As an adventure travel blogger from Melbourne, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Grund in Grundarfjörd. One unexpected highlight was the shared kitchen which allowed us to prepare our meals, a fantastic feature in a country known for its high dining costs. the free laundry facilities were a welcome surprise, especially after long days exploring the amazing landscapes - no one likes trekking in dirty clothes! The rooms were clean and functional, with a pleasant parquet floor adding a touch of warmth. While there are shared bathrooms, during my stay, they were well-maintained and not crowded. The location is convenient for those wanting to visit Kirkjufell and Snaefellsnesjokull National Park. With friendly hosts who went out of their way to ensure our comfort, Grund strikes a solid balance between value and essential luxury. This is a smart choice for the savvy traveler.
